Interested in guitar building and repair for as long as I've played guitar, I progressed to full time guitar repair when I started running my own repair service and parts supply business from SoundControl in Manchester UK in spring 2004. During my years in Manchester I gained an excellent reputation among a loyal customer base who traveled from as far afield as Birmingham, Wales and Cumbria to have their guitars serviced. I eventually decided to return to Dublin leaving the workshop in the hands of my good friend and then business partner Steve Curtis, who still runs TheGuitarRepairWorkshop from there, though the shop is now called ProfessionalMusicTechnology.

While running my workshop I also began touring with the band James as guitar tech and have enjoyed working for them for the last 4 years.

My academic background is in engineering (BEng in Computers and Electronics from Trinity College Dublin) and acoustics (PgDip Acoustics and Noise Control from the University of Salford), which has always been a great asset.
